Make a Difference in the Life of a Senior

The need for support services for seniors and caregivers is greater than ever. You can help.
Last year, the charitable programming operated by the Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) had profound impact on the community.

Our Meals on Wheels (MOW) programs - Western and Chinese (CMOW) - served more than 127,000 meals to seniors at risk of isolation across Vancouver & Richmond. More than half (57%) of our MOW clients are aged 80 or older. Up to 60% of our MOW clients report living alone.

Our Family Respite Centre (FRC) offers temporary care for seniors and people with cognitive or physical impairment while their caregivers get a much-needed break from their responsibilities. Last year, our Overnight Respite Program saw more than 3,336 overnight stays, and our Adult Day Program hosted more than 3,576 visits. (Individual clients may benefit from multiple visits to either program).
Regrettably, these services were temporarily suspended in March 2020 - in the interest of clients' health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Community Integration Project (CIP) continues to support people with newly acquired disabilities transition from rehabilitation back to their community with temporary housing at two fully-accessible apartments at St. George’s Place (near Vancouver Hospital); each is available for up to 6 months. Since 1999, a total of 136 individuals, including some family members, have been supported by the CIP.
Donations can be made by phone, or in person at our office (cheques payable to "Care BC Foundation"). You can make a secure donation online via credit card using the form above. All donations will be processed in Canadian dollars and donations of $20.00 or more will be issued an income tax receipt.

Please visit our Ways to Donate section for more information on the donation options you can make to support our charitable programs.
