Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Appeal​

During the COVID 19 pandemic, we have not only had to adjust how we deliver our meals but also how we raise funds to continue to operate our Meals on Wheels (MOW) programs during these very challenging, economic times. We have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our 12th Annual Fundraising Dinner & Auction this coming October. While we continue to seek out other funding opportunities, this event was anticipated to raise 50% of the funds we require annually to serve 127,500 meals (Western and Chinese) to our 1250 unique MOW clients (across Vancouver and Richmond). 

To keep the meals affordable for our clients, every meal is subsidized by Care BC. A donation of $100, or the cost of purchasing one dinner ticket will subsidize 50 meals. A donation of $1000, or the cost of purchasing one table at the dinner, will subsidize 500 meals. ​

The need for support services for seniors and caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic ​is greater than ever. You can help.

Last year, the charitable programming operated by the Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) had profound impact on the community.

Our Meals on Wheels (MOW) programs - Western and Chinese (CMOW) - served more than 127,000 meals to seniors at risk of isolation across Vancouver & Richmond. More than half (57%) of our MOW clients are aged 80 or older. Up to 60% of our MOW clients report living alone.
